A picture of London taken by a Disaster Monitoring Constellation satellite
Ian Sample reports in today's Guardian on a new satellite system that may help agencies bringing relief to the victims of human-made and natural disasters.
The Disaster Monitoring Constellation website has some incredible satellite images that would help relief workers locate the areas worst affected by calamities such as Hurricane Katrina.
Details of the system are being given today at a meeting on disaster prediction, detection and recovery at the Institute of Electrical Engineers in London.
