The Saints somehow screwed up what would have been a gift of a TD

The New Orleans Saints were handed what looked like an absolute gift of a touchdown in the final seconds of the first half against the Chiefs… but then they screwed it up in amazing fashion and walked away with just a safety and a whole lot of regrets.

It started with Chiefs punt-returner Demarcus Robinson for some reason deciding to try to return a punt deep in his own territory. He ran back a little bit and then fumbled the ball into his own end zone.

Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone then went to dive on the easy touchdown but instead he sent the ball sailing out of bounds. The Saints were awarded a safety… but should have had the TD:

That could be costly in this close game.
