The sadistic Ripper Crew abducted and murdered women in the '80s. Now, Thomas Kokoraleis is free at 58-years-old.

CHICAGO _ Early Friday, state corrections officials confirmed Thomas Kokoraleis was released from prison, transported from a facility in west central Illinois to an undisclosed location.

No further details were immediately provided.

Kokoraleis, 58, served 35 years in prison for the May 1982 murder of Lorry Ann Borowski, 21, of Elmhurst.

A member of the sadistic Ripper Crew, believed to be responsible for the sex slayings of up to 17 women and an unrelated fatal shooting of one man in the early 1980s, Kokoraleis will have to register with police wherever he lives as a convicted murderer. His information will be publicly disclosed on Illinois' sex offender registry for a lifetime. He has three days to register his new address.

Kokoraleis was held at the Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, about 30 miles west of Peoria.

Relatives of some victims were infuriated in 2017 when they learned of Kokoraleis' expected release and delayed his initial parole date.
