An app has located 134 homeless people in the four months since its launch.
The recently released technology allows the public to report the location of rough sleepers to homeless services in Dublin.
The smartphone app asks users to play their part and “alert us to rough sleepers.”
The Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE) received 287 alerts from 18 December to 18 April, according to figures released by the executive.
And the Dublin Simon Community met and engaged with 134 people when responding to these alerts.
The public can also alert outreach teams to the location of someone they see sleeping rough through the DRHE website.
The number of alerts received through the website over the same period was 208 and 114 people were engaged with.
However, the DRHE said that the figures are not accurate as there is a lot of duplication.
There are currently 4,093 adults homeless in Dublin according to the latest figures from the Department of Housing.
March’s figures show a decline of people in emergency accommodation nationwide last month with 8,060 people.
