The run-down house with 'help' scribbled across the wall sold for £37,500

An eerie run-down house has been sold, despite coming with some spooky aspects - including 'help' scribbled across the wall.

In spite of interest rates hiking, Pygott & Crone, the real estate agency who sold the property, have called the home an 'investment', report Grimsby Live.

Priced at £37,500 - plus a reservation fee of 4.2% of the purchase price - the pad was closed in the modern method of auction on Friday 14.

A spokesperson at Pygott & Crone in Grimsby confirmed that it "went quite a bit above" asking price, and "had a lot of interest.

"It was a bit of a bidding war in the end."

The spokesperson added that, "the buyers may renovate and sell on or get a tenant in. It may change, as sometimes it is one or the other."

And, the new owners clearly don't seem to mind getting their hands dirty, as the two-bed home will need to be redone - from top to bottom.

While the outside of the property is in good nick, the same cannot be said for the rest of the property. After passing the hallway, the words 'HELP' can be seen scrawled on the living room wall.

And for the buyers who could look past that, the entirety of the room will need to be re-painted and done up, as well as putting new flooring in.

The kitchen is in less of a state, as the countertops seem to to be in pretty good condition. But it is definitely in need of a scrub and clean.

And despite being a bargain, its new owners will have to fit a new bath into the bathroom, as well as flooring.

One of the two bedrooms seems to come with what seems to be a walk-in shower room. However, both rooms seem to be desperately calling out for an entire re-vamp.

It's safe to say that the house is in need of some TLC (Rightmove)

While the garden is somewhat overgrown, there is plenty of potential there as it seems to be be getting in a lot of sunlight.

The Rightmove description for the home read: "Situated within easy reach of Grimsby Town Centre and amenities is this spacious end terrace home. Offered for sale with NO FORWARD CHAIN.

"The property would make an ideal investment or project for anyone who is of a practical persuasion.

"Upon entry you are greeted by an entrance hallway that leads through to the dining room. This central dining room has an adjoining lounge to the front of the property and Kitchen to the rear."

It continues to outline the property: "Upstairs are the two bedrooms and family bathroom. The main bedroom is equipped with a shower.

"There is a garden to the rear of the property and it features double glazing and a gas central heating system. Internal viewings are recommended to see the potential this property has to offer."

Pygott & Crone have confirmed the home has now been sold.

It is going though conveyancing as an agreed bid went though on Friday.
