The Rum Shack is transforming into Afro Shack for one night only

It's one of the most popular venues in Pollokshaws Road.

And now The Rum Shack is getting a bit of a make-over for one night only this week.

The music and soul of Africa will be celebrated at the bar on Thursday (July 18), bringing a bit of sunshine to the southside.

Transformed into Afro Shack, the bar will be paying tribute to the dancing, rhythm and good vibrations of the continent.

The night will feature traditional African drums from the Minister of African Rhythm, Chief Amu, with a special acoustic performance from Scottish based, Nigerian singer Rach.

Elpacco Real & MANU Killer DJ Junior will also be on site, taking care of the rest of the night with some deep African cuts from across the continent.

All costumes, dresses and colours are, of course, highly encouraged - and you can find out all about the event here .

Glasgow Live has a community group dedicated to all things Food and Drink - the place to share reviews, foodie tips, new bars and restaurants and the menus you can’t miss. Join the conversation now!
