The rules on driving tests and lessons during the second lockdown

A decision on whether driving tests will go ahead during the lockdown in England has not yet been made.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency says customers will be updated on the situation "as soon as possible".

A spokesperson for the Agency said: “We are working closely with Government to agree the impact of the lockdown in England on DVSA services.

“We will update customers as soon as possible.”

The DVSA will contact you directly if your test is affected by local restrictions in England and Scotland.

At the moment, driving tests are still happening in the two countries, according to the DVSA wesbite.

But this is likely to change when England begins its month-long lockdown on Thursday (November 5).

Tests in Wales - which is currently under a two-week "firebreak" lockdown - are currently suspended until November 9.

If you have a driving test booked in Wales it will be automatically re-booked for on or after that date.
