The rules around alcohol at Bristol Harbour Festival 2019

Every year, tens of thousands of people flock to the harbourside to enjoy the Bristol Harbour Festival, the biggest annual, free festival in Bristol.

Many choose to enjoy the weekend exploring what the festival has to offer with a few beers in tow.

Patrons often bring their own alcohol to Harbourfest events, which helps them to save money and means they are able to roam around freely.

But safety is among the primary concerns for the event organisers, and regulations have been put in place about where you may enjoy your own alcohol.

Don’t let your weekend be soured just because you were drinking in the wrong place.

Is alcohol banned?

Alcohol brought from elsewhere will not be permitted in Queen’s Square, which will be the home of Cirque Bijou's Circus Playground.

Festival-goers wishing to drink in Queen’s Square will be able to purchase alcohol from one of the official bars located inside the square’s boundary.
