The Brexit 50p will enter circulation on 31 January as the UK leaves the European Union.
For those ardent Brexiteers who want a commemorative token of the day the Royal Mint is opening its doors at midnight for those who want to strike their own 50p coin.
The Brexit coin features the words 'Peace, Prosperity and friendship with all nations' to signify the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. It also features the date - 31 January 2020.
The Royal Mint says it will open the doors of its Royal Mint Experience in Llantrisant, Wales because of public interest in the coin. Those who arrive for the opening on 00:01 will be able to strike one of the first personally-struck Brexit coins. The Experience will be open for a full 24 hours on the first day.
Anybody who visits on the first day will get their coin displayed in a special package with the date of striking included.
The coins will cost £10 and are limited to three per person. The price will then be £6.90 after 1 February and will be limited to one per person.

On the day of Brexit the Royal Mint will launch gold and silver Proof editions of the 50p coin, as well as a Brilliant Uncirculated edition and as part of a two-coin historic set. In addition, a number of gold Sovereigns will be struck on the day and these particular coins will feature a portcullis privy mark.
Around 3 million of them will enter circulation at banks, post offices and shops nationwide, with a further 7 million expected to be released later in 2020.
