The Romelu Lukaku transfer decision that still divides opinion at Everton

When Everton sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in the summer of 2017, there was general acceptance amongst supporters that the Blues had landed themselves a good deal.

The fee, reported to be over £90m, was more than triple the £27m the Blues had splashed out three seasons earlier while Wayne Rooney also made his return to Goodison Park.

Two years later and things haven't quite gone as planned. Everton's failure to replace the Belgian led to Ronald Koeman losing his job nine games into the new campaign while Lukaku has struggled for form at United this season.

Sam Carroll and Ian Croll take to the stage for this week's Royal Blue Debate as they discuss whether the right decision was made to allow the former Chelsea star out of the exit door and onto pastures new.
