The role Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian played in former Manchester United striker's La Liga transfer

Adrian has revealed the role he played in former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez's deadline day move to Sevilla.

The duo played together at West Ham United, with the Mexican following the now-Liverpool goalkeeper out of the exit door at the London Stadium this summer.

Hernandez spent two seasons with the Hammers after returning to England from Bayer Leverkusen, having previously enjoyed a successful five-year stint at Old Trafford.

But despite spending a season of his career on loan at Real Madrid prior to a permanent Manchester United departure, the striker turned to Adrian to seek his advice about a return to La Liga with Sevilla.

"I am bético, but not antisevillista,” the Spaniard told Canal Sur.

"I told him that he was going to a very good club that have done well in recent years and that he is going to enjoy the city.

"I enjoyed playing with him. He had a good contract at West Ham and made an effort to move over there (Sevilla).

"If they give him confidence… that’s like all players. He is a fighter, committed and professional.

"What are we going to say about the Sevillians… I have told him where he can live. Not that have we been able to talk much because he has gone directly to the national team (Mexico)."
