The Houston Rockets have clinched the Southwest Division title after the San Antonio Spurs loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
This is the second straight year they’ve won the division and at 49-28, they’re a full five games ahead of the Spurs in the division, with whom the Rockets own the tiebreak.
This marks the seventh overall division title in franchise history, having won in 1977, 1986, 1993, 1994, 2015 and 2018.
Sitting in the third seed, the Rockets are a half-game ahead of the fourth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers and 2.5 games back of the Denver Nuggets for the second seed.
