Motorists in Carmarthenshire face months of disruption as more than 50 sections of road across the county are set to be resurfaced.
Carmarthenshire Council has said £2.2m is being invested in the project after funding was made available from the council’s capital works programme and the Welsh Government.
“Comprehensive traffic management” will be put in place in different areas while works are carried out, and short term road closures will also be needed in some parts of the county.

The council has published a detailed list of which roads will be resurfaced, with a total of 52 sections of road being worked on.
It insisted that road closures will be planned in a way that will “minimise disruption as far as possible”, and that the work is in addition to preventative dressing treatment which has already commenced in several areas.
The full list of roads affected can be seen below, although planned works could be subject to change. Dates and times for work to be carried out have not been revealed, but notice of works will be announced in advance and published online, the council has confirmed.

Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: "This is a significant amount of money that we have secured to improve our roads in the county. Whilst we can’t treat every road, the combined improvements will support safer and improved journeys for Carmarthenshire’s road users.
"All roadworks will be publicised in advance so motorists can plan journeys to avoid the area and take an alternative route.
"We will minimise as far as possible the impact on road users by careful planning, however, some disruption cannot be avoided, so please bear with us. We thank everyone in advance for their cooperation and patience.”
