The Ritz Paris Opens Patisserie Le Comptoir

The legendary Parisian Palace Ritz will inaugurate a gourmet pastry boutique on June 7. The Ritz Paris Le Comptoir by François Perret, star of the Netflix series The Chef in a Truck will be an exquisite invitation to “gourmandise” and a genuine new destination with its separate entrance at 38 Rue Cambon.

In January 2020, luxury brand and retail expert Natalie Bader Messian joined the newly created Executive Board of The Ritz including four personalities from diverse horizons. “Our goal is to make the Ritz shine globally” said Nathalie Bader Messian. “We want to keep the palace at the top of the hospitality industry. The first new step is to reinvent the retail points by creating the gourmet pastry”.

One of the objectives of the palace is to highlight each talent. As for now, Ritz Paris Le Comptoir will be the new urban and gourmet place, the first one -another one is already scheduled to open in 2022 before the brand gets global. “The opening of the Ritz Paris Le Comptoir is the first step in a dynamic new phase for the Cambon wing of the hotel. It’s also a more spontaneous, accessible alternative designed with Parisians in mind,” pointed out Marc Raffray, General Manager of the Ritz Paris.

From Monday to Saturday, Ritz Paris Le Comptoir will offer revisited exquisite croissant or pain au chocolat, three variations of lunchtime sandwiches, the César-inspired by the salad of the same name, Perret-style; the Salmon, in a more traditional version with fluffy sliced bread, and the Vegan, a focaccia sandwich. And of course, François Perret’s iconic treats. Considered as one of the great pastry chefs of his generation, he loves to say, “isn’t the art of balancing flavors what invites you to dip your spoon in once again with a smile on your lips, and without having to ask for a glass of water when you’re done? A dessert should astonish and create desire. Its gourmandise should make you want to come back.” Agreed.

The decor is immaculate and delicate with luminous structure, white and beige materials, Art Deco trolley or China cabinets. A cosy place to showcase François Perret’s exceptional creations. Inside, a giant chandelier of Bohemian crystal recalls the curved shape of a madeleine. The boutique used the codes and the emblematic atmosphere of the Ritz Paris to turn it into a casual place open to all Parisians and gourmets from all over the world. You will have the choice to settle on a six-meter-long leather banquette and admire the eight and half meter molded white counter filled with pastries or to pick up your favorite sweets, also via click-and-collect.
