Rising stars of the GAA named after UCC do a clean sweep of college competitions

The biggest rising stars of GAA have been named after the conclusion of the third level competions.

It is no surprise that UCC, champions of both the Fitzgibbon Cup and Sigerson Cup, dominate the final 15 in both codes for the Electric Ireland HE GAA Rising Stars.

They have fourteen representatives from both hurling and football while there are five different colleges represented on each XV.

The teams includes a host of inter-county stars like Aaron Gillane who dazzled for Mary Immaculate College and Kerry forward Sean O'Shea who was named footballer of the year after continuing to impress for UCC.

The hurler of the year crown went to another Kerryman and UCC star Shane Conway.
