The Ringer suggests CB Johnson, DE Gross-Matos and WR Mims as for Vikings

The Vikings have their share of needs at a wide variety of positions, and The Ringers’ Robert Mays has suggested three players who could fit the team well as first-round choices.

Mays listed Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson, Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims as friendly suggestions who fulfill positional needs for the Vikings.

Here’s some of what he said about the Vikings’ draft outlook:

“Minnesota needs to find immediate starters in both areas. General manager Rick Spielman shed a substantial amount of salary in the team’s recent purge, but the front office still has a limited amount of cap space at its disposal. Luckily, Minnesota has two first-round picks to work with, thanks to the Diggs trade.”

All that is true, and the Vikings definitely have options with their two picks in the first round. Personally, I’d also like for Minnesota to consider drafting a tackle with one of those picks, and maybe holding off on defensive end or wide receiver until later.
