Good to read Tim Lott’s sane response to the happiness imperative (Opinion, 10 April). I personally cannot begin to match the positivity of my local pharmacy: “Passionate about your prescription.”

• I taught infants for many years and was occasionally called mum, but oddly never dad (Letters, 10 April). A male infant teacher is unusual (sadly) and I’d get notes from parents addressed to “Miss Tromes”.
