With just a matter of weeks left until the transfer window again re-opens, work is being done behind the scenes for clubs to be able to get in their targets.
And it is no different at the City Ground. Forest were busy in the summer window, bringing 14 new players to the club including Harry Arter, Lyle Taylor and Anthony Knockaert.
But that number was very nearly 15, with the Reds agreeing a deal to take West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki on loan.
However, a dispute over if the paperwork was submitted on time on deadline day saw the player remain at the Hawthorns for at least another six-months.
It is still unknown if Forest will return for the player when the window re-opens, but Grosicki has revealed that he has been in contact with the club.
There has been and remains contact with clubs from the Championship, including Nottingham, and we'll see what happens,” he told Super Express.
“It will be an important decision because I want to play, to go to the Euros, but only if I'm in shape.”
Following the player’s comments, Forest fans have given their reaction, and it seems that not too many are keen on returning to complete the transfer.
Here is what some had to say.
Andrew Chard: No doubting how good he is/can be. But would a 32yo transfer/loan. Is that the right direction??
DGB: No thanks. How about we actually give Alex Mighten an opportunity.
Fame Razak: He’s just eyeing up his last big money money and will he happy to sit on the bench... any bench. Need to use the quality youngsters who want it more.
Gary Hall: Just what we need another older player, u just know after all this he will be useless in a reds shirt
Winoian: Just what we need, another 30+ yr old on prem wages #nffc
Although some are more encouraged by the update.
Dave Holmes: He’d be a good signing, you’d think with a deal actually being agreed in the summer and just submitted late this would be a quick one done when the window opens. We need quality in the attacking third and he definitely brings that. #NFFC
