The Rig fans are all saying the same thing after Martin Compston drama launches

Amazon Prime have released the first series of the highly anticipated show, The Rig.

Starring Line of Duty's Martin Compston, who plays Fulmer Hamilton, and a host of other beloved actors, the series, despite being out for less than 24 hours, has already been a hit.

People are calling for a second series and having watched the series ourselves, we are in full agreement.

The streaming service dropped all six episodes today (January 6 2023) and people at home were keen to watch it all.

Starring the likes of Guilt's Mark Bonnar (Alwyn Evans), Game of Throne's Iain Glen (Magnus MacMillan) and Emily Hampshire (Rose Mason) - to name a few - the series follows a group of people who are in the dangerous waters of the North Sea off the Scottish coast on the Kinloch Bravo oil rig.

During the first episode, and don't worry there are no spoilers, the crew are set to return to the mainland however a "mysterious and all-enveloping fog rolls through and they find themselves cut off from all communication with the shore and the outside world".

As the rig is hit by massive tremors, the crew endeavour to discover what's driving the "unknown force". However in the process "bonds are broken, allegiances formed and generational fault lines exposed."

Throughout the series, the crew "will be driven to the limits of both their loyalties and their endurance, into a confrontation with forces beyond their imagination".

Discussing the episodes on social media having already finished the series one said: "With the amount of crossover actors to Line of Duty, it almost feels like a multiverse of an alternative timeline!! #TheRig"

Another added: "Must watch! I love #therig!"

"I quite enjoyed #TheRig...A decent dark industrial folktale. I hope there’s a second series forthcoming" said a third.

Meanwhile a fourth added the same saying: "I binged watched the entire first season. No sleep here at all and I’m so stressed out. When is season two because omfg."
