The ridiculous results that could force a Liverpool vs Man City play-off for the Premier League

The Premier League title race is finally set to reach its conclusion today.

Liverpool have pushed Manchester City to the very last game of the season with just a point between the two sides.

The Reds will need a home win against Wolves and Pep Guardiola's team to drop points in Brighton if they are to be crowned champions.

Though if results go a certain (and quite frankly ridiculous) way, it could still set up a Premier League title-deciding play-off.

For this to happen Man City would need to be shocked by Brighton at the Amex.

Jurgen Klopp delivers one final message to Liverpool supporters as Reds aim for Premier League title

Chris Hughton's team will need to win 4-0 at the Amex, while Liverpool would have to draw 4-4 with Nuno Esperito Santo's Wolves at Anfield.

The chances of this happening are unlikely, and the odds for both results have been priced at a whopping 63,000/1.

A play-off has never been needed before but the Premier League did make plans in the 1995/96 season for Manchester United and Newcastle.

Two dates at Wembley were even booked out and tickets printed off, but in the end United won the league by four points.

In previous seasons a play-off has been a possibility going into the final day to settle Champions League or Europa League places, but it has never ended up being needed.
