The Revolut fee change earlier this month that hits Irish customers

Revolut's small change on ATM withdrawal fees came into force earlier this month with Irish customers hit.

As of April 9, people using the Standard Revolut account have seen the limits on free monthly ATM withdrawals changing.

It used to be the case that there was a €200 limit on free monthly ATM withdrawals on the Standard plan.

But earlier this year the company announced plans to add a limit of five ATM withdrawals meaning once you hit this, you will also begin paying a fee.

And customers around Ireland will be starting to notice this change after it was brought in a little over a week ago.

The new plan means, customers get free withdrawals on up to five ATM withdrawals or €200 per rolling month (whichever comes first), then a fee applies. That fee is 2% of the withdrawal, subject to a minimum fee of €1 per withdrawal.

Revolut spokesman Michael Russell said at the time of the announcement: “We are laser focused on keeping our day-to-day transactions free where possible. In order to keep our day-to-day fees low - and free in most instances - we have changed some of the fees for certain transactions that are either infrequent or that impact a tiny fraction of our users. In fact fewer than 0.5% of Irish Revolut users withdraw from the ATM 5 times or more per month."
