It's something which has divided families throughout Edinburgh for many a year.
What do you have on a bacon roll – brown sauce or tomato ketchup?
For some the sight of tomato sauce on bacon would act only to send a shiver down your spine.
For others the idea of brown sauce on your breakfast treat is more than enough to make the blood boil.
So, with that in mind, we decided to ask people on social media which camp they are in – red or brown?
And the results were overwhelming.
Of the 276 that voted in our extremely serious Facebook poll, 212 opted for brown sauce and just 64 went for tomato ketchup.
Sounds to us like it's case closed.
Some people went further than to simply vote for their preferred option though, and even suggested an alternative – but we wish they hadn't.
Piotr Chonja posted: "Garlic sauce!"
Caroline Moscrop commented: "Mustard."
Izzy Powell even suggested mayonnaise.
David Whitefield reckons you should have Branston pickle – and we're baffled.
Laura Burrell suggested white sauce – yep, still baffled.
And Gary Hamilton opts for some Tabasco with his bacon roll.
