The remarkable stat that Everton's new signing holds against Manchester United

Everton have got their first deal of the summer over the line, securing Jonas Lossl on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town.

The experienced stopper has and will join officially on July 1st when his contract with the Terriers expires, ending a two-year stint in West Yorkshire.

He missed just six matches in the 2018-19 season with Huddersfield, having signed with the club permanently after a spell on loan from German side Mainz 05 the previous year.

His experience will be an asset to the squad, as he competes with Jordan Pickford for a starting spot, but a surprising stat suggests he could provide some creativity.

Since joining the Premier League, Lossl has registered two assists against Manchester United - something that no player in the top-flight can better.

His most recent came against the Red Devils in a 1-1 draw earlier this month, while his first was more significant as it came in a surprise 2-1 victory over United in October 2017.

Four other players also boast that record, with a list that consists of Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Raul Jimenez and Jeffrey Schlupp, but they all play in positions where you’d expect an influence in the final third.

Therefore, Lossl may well have his eye on the Premier League’s fixture release day next month to find out when he could extend his record against United.
