The remarkable rise of Liverpool's Andy Robertson - as told by FIFA Ultimate Team

Liverpool have had an incredible season so far.

They're still in the hunt for both the Premier League and the Champions League, and their current form is exceptional, having not lost a game in all competitions since early January.

Reds left-back Andy Robertson has played a crucial role in this campaign, having been in fantastic form himself.

In fact, Joshua Kimmich is the only defender with more assists to his name in Europe's top five leagues so far this season.

But he wasn't always the Robertson we know and love.

We used the popular FIFA Ultimate Team to track the remarkable rise of Robertson over the last few years.

Back in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, Robertson had a bronze card with an overall rating of just 61 out of 100, when he played for Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.

The Scot's 61 overall rating was only as good as former Port Vale defender Ryan McGivern back then.

The best left-back on FIFA 14 Ultimate Team was Chelsea defender Ashley Cole, who had an overall rating of 85, some way above Robertson's ability.

The best left-back on FIFA 17 Ultimate Team was again David Alaba, who had an overall rating of 87.

Andy Robertson on FIFA 18 Ultimate Team

(EA Sports)

After a year at Anfield, Robertson was only given a one overall rating upgrade, up to 76 overall.

(EA Sports)

Robertson's best ever card on FIFA Ultimate Team came as recently as Wednesday, April 3, as he got a super in-form 87-rated card for his excellent performance against Tottenham at Anfield.

In the space of just five years, Robertson has gone from a 61-rated Dundee United defender, to a 83-rated Liverpool defender, which is an astonishing rise.
