The Regrettes - How Do You Love? review: Peppy indie pop provides plenty to like

Admittedly, if you were born before the year 2000, you will feel decrepit listening to The Regrettes’ peppy second album, How Do You Love?

The 15-track record by this West Coast indie band — who are mostly in their late teens — features sweaters and looming parents and pimples, in songs with titles such as Coloring Book and Pumpkin.

Still, if you can face down your own mortality there’s plenty to like about How Do You Love?: snarling riffs and pulsing drums, sunny tempo and chanty choruses that conjure the teenager’s affected angst (“Anything can happen/ So just let it happen”).

Listen for an easy shortcut to approval from a Gen Z relative.
