The Reece James and Hakim Ziyech Chelsea partnership that is already getting supporters excited

They have only shared a pitch as opponents for 26 minutes but already Chelsea fans are salivating at the prospect of Reece James and Hakim Ziyech, whose £33.4million move from Ajax to Stamford Bridge in the summer was confirmed today, combining down the right wing next season.

On paper at least this seems like a double act made in heaven.

In his neophyte campaign as a first-team player at Stamford Bridge, James has consistently displayed his crossing qualities with countless outswinging teasers.

After that 4-4 Champions League draw with Ajax in November, Joe Cole compared the right back's deliveries to David Beckham and his masterclass in the FA Cup win at home to Nottingham Forest added further stock to those claims.

Meanwhile, few in the world can rival Ziyech when it comes to inswinging left-footed crosses. The Morocco star already has 19 assists in all competitions this season and no one in the Champions League has had a higher expected assists ratio than his 4.65.

Combined the pair will be considered a dream for Tammy Abraham and whoever else is part of Chelsea's strikeforce next season.

The Blues' qualities from set pieces should rise to a higher level too.

While James does not take corners - his physical presence in the area is considered a greater strength - it is a long time since the Blues had a left-footed player capable of causing panic in penalty areas.

And beyond that fans should expect to see plenty of James overlapping his new team-mate, who has a tendency to cut in on his right before shifting to ball to his left.
