The Redskins will consider Bill Callahan, Kevin O’Connell for vacant coaching position

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Washington Redskins have done a bit of thinking about who they will name as their new head coach next season, but that decision likely won’t come until later in the season.

Rapoport said on Thursday afternoon that the Redskins are considering interim coach Bill Callahan for the position, and they have also discussed the possibility of offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell being promoted to the position as well, as he is widely regarded in the organization as one of the top young offensive minds in the NFL, like Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan were before him.

Rapoport says that Washington will likely hold off on making a decision until at least December when they will then start to look at other candidates around the league.
