The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner - review

The Red Necklace is set during the French Revolution, the first of two amazing and thrilling books.

It's about a young boy in theatre called Yann Margoza, and the daughter of the Marquis, Sidonie de Villeduval. We hear from these two very different points of view until they actually meet, and are caught in a whirlwind of passion, action and suspicion.

Everything seems ordinary in both of their lives, until Sido is whisked out of the convent by the father who hates her, and one of Yann's colleagues is murdered.
There is one man behind all of this: Count Kalliovski.

It is Count Kalliovski that is making life a danger for the both of them, so they have to bond a quick friendship and understanding, joined together by their hatred and fear of the man who killed both of their parents...

A mystery/action-adventure/romance that will keep you glued until the very end.
