The $1.2425 million auction sale of house in Cameron Park last Saturday has taken the Lake Macquarie suburb to new heights.
Belle Property Lake Macquarie's Sam Taylor marketed the property at 21 Falster Ridge with a guide of $1.1 million. The property featured a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a pool and spa on a 1213 square metre block that backed onto bushland.
The auction was brought forward by one week due to buyer interest. Four registered bidders reportedly slogged it out for over 30 minutes at the online auction with 83 bids made in total.
"Auction is a rare process for Cameron Park, but in so many ways it highlights what the market is capable of rather than a preconceived idea of what Cameron Park should be worth," Mr Taylor said.
"We had quite a few buyers, both local and out of area, and it was so sought after. The house still needed landscaping but it was the location and block size of around 1200 square metres that was the drawcard because it's a lifestyle offering which is hard to come by east of the freeway."
According to CoreLogic data, it surpassed the previous highest Cameron Park result of $1.15 million for a four-bedroom house on 4.86 hectares of land at 36 Beluga Drive in October 2018.
A four-bedroom home on a 1329 square metre block at 100 Northlakes Drive was sold for $1.141 million in September last year.

A new suburb record was also set for Maryland last Saturday with the $1.27 million auction sale of a six-bedroom, three-bathroom residence at 12 Athlone Way.
The home had garaging for six cars, a pool and was on 1509 square metres of land. It was marketed by Century 21 Novocastrian's Nick Stewart with a guide of $1 million to $1.1 million. There were 15 registered online bidders.
The previous highest sale of a house in Maryland, according to CoreLogic data, was $950,000.
A three-bedroom home on 1012 square metres of land at 94 Regent Street, New Lambton sold under the hammer last weekend for $1.765 million and a four-bedroom home at 285 Park Avenue, Kotara sold at auction for $830,000. Both were marketed by First National Newcastle City.

A four-bedroom residence at 36A Rowan Crescent, Merewether that was marketed by Robinson Property's Mike Flook sold at auction last Saturday for $2.35 million.
