The record Liverpool can set against Southampton is perfect for Mohamed Salah

Liverpool will be looking to set a club record against Southampton on Friday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side will travel to St Mary's Stadium for the crucial Premier League match which could see the Reds return to the top of the table and put the pressure back on Manchester City.

If Liverpool are to rise back to the domestic league summit they will need to beat the Saints.

And, if they do win, it will see them set a new club record.

That is because the Reds have won their previous three league meetings against Southampton but they’ve never won four in a row against the Saints in their history.

For Liverpool to achieve all three points they will need the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to be on full firing form.

Salah hasn’t scored in any of his last eight appearances in all competitions – his longest run without a goal since a run of 10 games with Roma between November 2015 and January 2016.

However, the Egyptian superstar has scored in all three of his Premier League appearances against Southampton, netting four goals in total, so this could be the perfect game for him to hit the back of the net once more.
