Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has opened up on the team selections he has made for the club's Premier League clash at Leicester City.
Dele Alli has been rested for the encounter in the midlands, while Christian Eriksen was dropped to the bench.
Erik Lamela has been afforded a start, with those decisions naturally leading to questions for the Argentinian manager ahead of the fixture.
But Pochettino was quick to play down the importance of the decisions and stated that it was Spurs' deep squad and his faith in the starting XI for the game which prompted the change-up.
"We have a big squad. It's impossible to pick all of them and we have to manage," Pochettino told BT Sport.
"All of them are on a different level and a different situation. We believe the starting eleven are ready."
Pochettino also added his thoughts on Spurs' 2-2 draw at Olympiakos in the Champions League in midweek and insisted the result was hardly the end of the world for his side.
"I don't know why people are talking so negatively after what we did last season," Pochettino added. "A draw at Olympiakos is a massive disappointment now. We started worse in the Champions League last season and made the final."
Davinson Sanchez is also absent, while club captain Hugo Lloris has been left out due to his wife giving birth.
