The reason why people in Gorseinon, Loughor and Penyrheol woke up to a power cut this morning

Thousands of people living in an area of Swansea were without power this morning.

A fault at Lime Street substation in the Gorseinon area of the city resulted in 2,842 people being without power. You can read more news from the area by clicking here.

People from Gorseinon, Loughor and Penyrheol all reported having outages this morning in social media discussions.

A cable fault caused the issue, which went on for 39 minutes.

A spokeswoman for Western Power Distribution said: "There was an HV fault this morning out of Lime Street substation which affected 2,842 customers. The cause was down to a cable fault, all customers were restored within 39 minutes."
