We've all been there - stumbling into McDonald's, shielding our eyes from the bright lights and following our nose for the only hangover cure that will do the trick.
But for all the greasy gloriousness of the takeaway breakfast snack, the holy trinity of a bacon, sausage and egg McMuffin still isn't on the menu.
Sure, you can combine egg with either sausage or bacon. Heck, you can even double up on your meat if you want.
But a combination of all three ingredients as standard is a big no-no, but why?
Well, the bosses at McDonald's say it's all to do with value.
"We don't want to become more expensive, it's that simple," said a spokesperson for McDonald's.
"Adding extra ingredients to existing products would inflate their cost and we believe it's really important to remain a great value breakfast destination.
"However, we do offer customers the chance to customise their meal when ordering."
