The reason Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi were not in Chelsea's squad for Man United clash

Frank Lampard was dealt a massive blow ahead of Chelsea's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Both Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi were not named in the matchday squad for the Blues.

Abraham had been struggling with an ankle injury suffered against Arsenal, and the winter break was not enough to get the Blues striker fit.

Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, is out with a hamstring problem, so was not fit enough to make the squad, either.

It means it was a big night for Michy Batshuayi, who was making his first Premier League start of the season for the Blues.

Meanwhile, Pedro was preferred to Mason Mount in the wing position, with Willian on the other flank as well.

Frank Lampard excited for Hakim Ziyech's arrival

In a midfield three, Mateo Kovacic partners Jorginho and N'Golo Kante, with Reece James starting at right-back again.

The big decision to keep Willy Caballero in goal over Kepa Arrizabalaga was also made by Lampard.
