The reason revealed for Giovani Lo Celso's absence from Tottenham squad to face Ludogorets

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has missed out on the change to play against Ludogorets in the Europa League due to injury.

The 24-year-old Argentina international was likely to start the group stage match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night.

However, football.london understands that Lo Celso picked up a knock in training ahead of the game that meant he was not risked for the European encounter.

Spurs loving training

Hugo Lloris and Steven Bergwijn are also missing from the Tottenham squad, meaning young goalkeepers Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman both take their place on the bench.

Sixteen-year-old academy striker Dane Scarlett joins fellow young Spurs players Jack Clarke and Harvey White among the substitutes for the Europa League tie.

Dele Alli and Japhet Tanganga make rare starts for Jose Mourinho, who has made 10 changes to the team that beat Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs face another massive league clash this coming Sunday when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on London rivals Chelsea.
