The reason part of Trent Bridge was closed just before rush hour

By Jake Brigstock

Police confirmed they temporarily closed part of the Old Trent Bridge follow reports of concern for a person's safety.

Officers were called at 4.26pm this afternoon (Monday, January 10) to the report.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers attended and quickly brought it to a safe conclusion."

According to Nottingham Travelwise, the road was closed inbound due to the incident, and outbound was not affected.

The road was reopened a matter of minutes later, and no-one was injured.
