The reason Meghan Markle and Prince Harry apparently won't hire a nanny

While members of the Royal Family have generally hired nannies to help out with their brood, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have apparently decided against hiring someone in when their first baby arrives in the spring.

According to Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, the couple has chosen someone closer to home to help out. A source told Nicholl, “[Meghan and Harry] do not plan to hire a nanny or nurse initially, and will instead rely on the help of Meghan’s mother.”

Meghan’s 62-year-old mother Doria Ragland became an internet sensation when when she attended Meghan and Harry's wedding last year, proudly watching the daughter she'd raised predominantly as a single mother walk down the aisle.

Reports that Doria will be helping Meghan and Harry out with childcare follow rumours that the couple is giving Ragland a dedicated wing in their new home Frogmore House, which is currently being renovated in preparation for their move.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple is also believed to be building a yoga studio in their new home. Meghan and her mother are committed yoga fans, with a newly health-conscious Harry apparently taking up the exercise too.

Beyond Doria, Nicholl’s source also claimed that the couple is planning some technical additions to Frogmore Cottage, bringing the Grade II listed historical property up to date.

The source said, “They are going all out with the refurbishment of the house, and as Harry loves his gadgets, it’s going to be very cool. They’ll be able to control everything from their smartphones.”
