The reason Maurizio Sarri stormed out of Chelsea's training session ahead of Arsenal

Chelsea have stated that Maurizio Sarri storming out of their Europa League training session was due to a lack of opportunity to practise set-pieces.

The Blues boss threw his hat to the ground and then kicked it up in the air, twice, before heading down the tunnel towards the end of the session.

It came after Gonzalo Higuain and David Luiz were involved in a clash during the training that was open to the media.

However, Chelsea have stated Sarri's anger was not due to that incident.

A Chelsea spokesman said: "Maurizio’s frustration displayed at the end of training was not related to any of his players, but was due to not being able to practise set-plays in the final 15 minutes of the hour-long training session as it remained open to media."

There have been a few moments during the Europa League campaign that Sarri has not been happy with the access to his players, including in Kiev when he complained that the cameras were too close to his session.

Last week the media were also allowed to film for an hour ahead of making the trip to Baku.

While Sarri's demeanor in the press conference was jovial, he was clearly irritated at the end of the hour-long session.

The Chelsea boss will be hoping to keep his cool, however, when he tries to win his first major trophy as a manager.
