The reason Liverpool Champions League winner was pictured with Man City boss Pep Guardiola

Liverpool legend John Arne Riise was pictured with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola this week.

The former full-back, who won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005, was a guest alongside Guardiola at a special golf event.

The pair were both in attendance at the Trophy of Legends tournament which took place in Girona, Spain.

Riise took to Instagram to share a picture with the Premier League winning manager as well as a video.

The 38-year-old wrote: "On the range working on our swing @pepteam.

"What a great event @trophyoflegends thank you for the invite!"

In the past former players such as Dirk Kuyt, Luis Garcia and Albert Riera have all taken part in the event.

Holland icon Ruud Gullit and Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz were involved in this year's meeting which took place at the PGA Catalunya resort.
