The reason Lewis Capaldi's Tinder profile has been plastered all over bus shelters and billboards

Lewis Capaldi has officially teamed up with dating app Tinder in a bid to help him find love.

Pictures from the West Lothian superstar's own profile have been plastered all over bus shelters and billboards in recent days, with fans speculating as to why.

However the real reason has now been revealed.

Tinder and Capaldi today announced that they would be joining forces as part of a new partnership which might, perhaps, lead to him forging a partnership of his own.

The 22-year-old says he has been unlucky in love of late, and has previously spoken about his dating troubles and lack of matches on the popular app.

So now Tinder has done its bit to help.

Capaldi's profile, which has been confirmed as genuine despite much speculation, will now feature a verified blue tick so potential matches know it's really him.

Tinder will also be joining him as he embarks on his first world-wide tour in the Autumn, and to ensure he isn't lonely on the first leg of his tour, he'll be inviting one lucky match, and a guest of their choice, to fly to New York to join him at his Brooklyn show on 11 October.

Capaldi said: "I'm very excited to have teamed up with the people at Tinder to give two lucky people the chance to fly out to New York to meet your favourite big lovely handsome celebrity (me).

"I'm yet to find love and Tinder Gold is the only lifeline I have left before I'm resigned to a lifetime living at home with my mother."

Capaldi will also be giving out tickets to sold out shows all over the UK to fans who visit the profile and, of course, swipe right, or visit the URL from his posters which can be found on billboards and bus shelters across the UK.
