The reason Juventus and Chelsea chiefs met in Baku amid Maurizio Sarri exit rumours

Chelsea are busy gearing up for tonight’s Europa League final with Arsenal but there continues to be plenty of attention off the field.

Speculation around the future of Maurizio Sarri continues to rumble on after what has been a turbulent first season in England for the former Napoli boss, with a suggestion he will be moved on regardless of the result in Baku .

Juventus’ announcement that Massimiliano Allegri is leaving Turin has fanned the flames further, with Sarri tipped as a favourite to take the reigns of the Old Lady ahead of next season.

Interesting pictures have now emerged that show Juventus president Andrea Agnelli in Azerbaijan ahead of the Europa League final - and he is even staying at the same five-star hotel as Sarri and the Chelsea team.

That will intensify the rumours but the real reason why Agnelli is in Azerbaijan is due to his position as the president of the European Club Association (ECA) - and he will leave before tonight’s Europa League final .

However, a picture published by TuttoSport shows Agnelli sitting down with Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck - and Sarri’s future may have been a topic of conversation for the pair.
