The reason Harry Winks was not in Tottenham's squad to face Huddersfield

Tottenham have been struck by another injury blow at a crucial part of their season as Harry Winks' name has been added to the absentee list alongside Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Both Kane and Alli were forced off against Manchester City with an ankle injury and hand fracture respectively with the England captain looking set to miss the rest of the season.

Alli was in contention to face Huddersfield but has missed out on the squad, as has Winks who picked up a groin yesterday.

Mauricio Pochettino noted how he had been forced to make a number of changes for the match against Huddersfield.

He said: “I think for us it’s a very important game but after the Champions League game we are forced. First of all because we have a few injuries like Dele Alli, Harry Kane and yesterday Harry Winks, and then because we need fresh legs and we need full energy because it’s going to be a very difficult game.”

Winks has only recently returned from groin injury that he picked up in March and kept him out for around a month.

Who is George Marsh? The Spurs youngster named on the substitutes' bench vs Huddersfield Town

Jamie Redknapp believes Spurs will miss his presence.

He told BT Sport: "I think Harry Winks is such an important player for them, he that one in midfield that takes on responsibility, that receives that ball off the back four. He's such a big player and when he's not there they do miss him."
