Chelsea supporters will have had to have eyes in the back of their heads to watch a number of transfer targets in action today.
Expected £53million arrival Timo Werner is in action for RB leipzig against Paderborn this afternoon, with Kai havertz, another potential transfer target also due to be in action for Bayer Leverkusen in a big clash with Bayern Munich at the same time.
However, Havertz, who has been exceptional since the Bundesliga returned from a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis, is not in the squad for the game against Bayern.
Havertz has won admirers across the top five European league for his starring performances to lift Leverkusen up towards the Champions League places in the Bundesliga.
He has scored five goals in four games since the restart, adding to the ten he notched prior to football being suspended.
And it has led to a number of top Premier League clubs taking a keen interest in him, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all heavily linked.
But, missing from the squad, Chelsea fans at least can concentrate on Werner's performance in the Leipzig game against Paderborn.
So why is Havertz missing from the squad for the big game against Bayern?
It has nothing at all to do with any transfer talk, as Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes explained.
Speaking to BeIn Sports he said: "He had some problems with his muscle after the Freiburg game so he couldn't train 100% and is not at 100% at the moment, so that's why he's not in the squad today.
"In the first game [against Bayern] it wasn't possible for him to play, so we try to do the same today. For sure it would be better if Kai could play, but it isn't so it's up to other players to play at a higher level."
