The reason Arsenal are North London derby favourites vs Tottenham - but there's a problem

Arsenal are favourites for next Sunday's North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

That's according to Roy Keane, who has already previewed the first meeting between the two rivals at the Emirates Stadium when delivering his verdict on Spurs' 3-0 loss against Chelsea.

Second half goals from Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger inflicted a second Premier League defeat of the campaign for the Lilywhites which leaves them just three points ahead of the Gunners in the table.

Arsenal were rock-bottom and Spurs were top going into the international break, but Mikel Arteta's side would move level on points with their rivals with victory at the Emirates Stadium.

And Keane can only see one winner at the moment, especially after watching Spurs conceded eight goals in their last three games across all competitions.

Although, he has warned the Gunners of the quality Nuno Espirito Santo has at his disposal and how Son Heung-min and Harry Kane can represent a big problem in N5.

"Over the last week's performances Arsenal [favourites], Tottenham conceding eight in a week? You have to say Arsenal but Tottenham still have quality in their team," Keane said on Sky Sports.

"Son had a quiet game today, if Kane turns up today they’re capable of winning matches."

Arsenal and Arteta know all too well about the Son and Kane's threat.

In the meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, both players were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win for the hosts.

But the Gunners gained a measure of revenge in the reverse fixture, coming from behind to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette.
