The incredible Alexandre Lacazette stats that Unai Emery must heed to get Arsenal firing

Arsenal have arguably one of the most exciting attacking units in Europe.

But there is often debate over who should lead the line and which positions the trio up front should take.

The relationship between Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is strong, both on and off the pitch, and they often trade places between being the main man through the middle and adopting a position on the left.

But should Unai Emery make a decision and stick by it?

Once Nicolas Pepe finds his feet in the Premier League, Arsenal are only going to get stronger, but there's one statistic which seems to stand out as a key reason behind Arsenal's success so far, and suggests Emery should make one of his front three the main man through the middle on a regular basis - Lacazette.

According to Wyscout statistics , the Frenchman has the second highest number of shots on goal per 90 minutes.

On average, he has 4.04 shots on goal in each match, with only Ross Barkley of Chelsea having higher (4.11) - and he's only played 147 minutes of Premier League football this season!

There's been plenty of discussion around Arsenal's attacking set-up and whether Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should take the central striker's role, but based on these statistics it's hard to look past Lacazette.

Arsene Wenger not ruling out leading a team at next World Cup

Lacazette has the 14th highest shots per 90 minute with an average of 3.26.

While Aubameyang has scored three goals this term compared to Lacazette's two, the Gabon international has played significantly more minutes giving him a goal every 120 minutes compared to the Frenchman's record of a goal every 74 minutes.

This perhaps suggests that Lacazette is better served playing through the middle, while Aubameyang can use his pace and movement to carve out chances as he comes in from a wide position.

Either way, it must be wonderful for Unai Emery to have such a wealth of competent options in attacking areas, and that'll no doubt serve him well over the season.
