The REAL reason why it is 'too dangerous' for Kim Kardashian to have babies

Reality star Kim Kardashian has announced that she's become mother for a fourth time with rapper Kanye West .

The birth of her second son marks the couple's child born to a surrogate.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has once again turned to another to help extend her family but this is no vanity project.

If 38-year-old was to carry another child, it could prove potentially fatal after a complication while having three year old Saint has left Kim facing a life threatening condition if she conceives.

What happened in the last pregnancy?

Kim had suffered a number of complications during her first two pregnancies and this is what prompted doctors to warn her not to carry a child again.

The birth of Saint was made a whole lot more difficult due to Kim having preeclampsia and placenta accreta.

What is preeclampsia? Is it harmful to baby?

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication that usually comes from high blood pressure and signs of damage to mainly the liver and kidneys.

The condition can start from 20 weeks of pregnancy and can affect women who had previously had normal blood pressure.

If left untreated it could prove fatal to the unborn child, as well as the mother.

It can impair the function of both the liver and kidney as well as causing blood clotting problems and pulmonary edema (fluid on the lungs).

Preeclampsia also affects the blood flow to the placenta, which brought another complication for Kim Kardashian .

What is placenta accreta?

This is ultimately what has caused Kim to look to surrogates for growing her family, as this condition has placed her in the 'high-risk' category.

Kim has been prevented from giving birth again as her placenta attached itself to the uterine wall and failed to shed completely during childbath.

This can lead to major blood loss for the mother and for this reason, doctors have told Kim that it would be 'potentially fatal' if she was to carry the baby herself.
