Love Island champ Amber Gill has destroyed fans' hopes of a romance between her and close pal Ovie Soko .
The Geordie beautician, 22, says that although she receives floods of messages from fans eager to see the coupling, she thinks she and Ovie, 28, do better as mates.
Amber told OK! Online : "It is a weird thing for me because he's like my brother.
"I would prefer to have him as a friend. We have never really thought of each other like that - its a bit strange that everybody comments on it all the time.
"I'm like, 'Oh my God, no, stop.'"
Amber recently split from boyfriend and fellow winner Greg O'Shea , after the Irish rugby hunk dumped her by text.
Meanwhile, Ovie's relationship took a blow after rumours of cheating emerged against girlfriend India Reynolds . The brunette beauty was alleged to have cheated with footballer Kieran Gibbs.
Amber continued: "He is always going to be there no matter what if he's my friend, he's going to be there through boyfriends, through anything.
"I get those types of messages about Ovie and I all the time. Oh my God, the amount of people that want it to happen.
"But they are going to ruin the friendship! I don't know why they want to ruin something good."
She also confirmed that Ovie and India are shrugging off the rumours and going strong: "Besides Ovie and India are still together - I just saw them last Monday at the TV Choice Awards and they were very much still together."
Amber and Greg were the quickest of all Love Island winning couples to split, calling it quits just five weeks after the ITV2 reality hit ended.
She also admitted that she wasn't ready to date again this year, saying: "No way, I dealt with two boys over the summer, I don't need to deal with any more right now.
"That's enough to last me for the year.
"I am definitely off men for the minute. I'm happy by myself - definitely. I'm not looking for anything. I don't have the time any more to date to be honest. I'm happy where I am."
Speaking to the Loose Women panel, Amber confirmed the rumours that Greg had dumped her by text were true.
She revealed: "From my point of view I still wanted to make it work. There was a call a few days prior but definitely on that day it was just a text.
"I just think our careers and the distance was a factor, like it was always something that we knew about so I don't know what changed.
"I kind of wanted to make it work but it is what it is really."
