The Real Housewives of Cheshire star pictured on Instagram at Royal Ascot-themed indoor birthday lunch

The wives of Premier League football players were pictured breaching lockdown rules when they had lunch together indoors during a Royal Ascot themed birthday event.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star and singer Nermina Pieters-Mekic was photographed inside the home of fellow WAG Freya Cork with four other people.

Pictures were posted on Instagram on Wednesday (June 17).

The pair are married to Burnley FC players - Freya is the wife of Jack Cork and Nermina is married to Erik Pieters.

Photos were posted of the six women inside the home dressed up for the Royal Ascot themed event on now-deleted Instagram stories.

Freya posted a photo of the women indoors at the table with the caption 'Birthday Lunch'.

The table was decorated with vases of pink roses and matching pink napkins.

Nermina also posted a photo of the table, with the caption 'so beautiful @freyacork'.

The pair also posted photos on their accounts of the group of six women standing in a socially distanced formation in the garden.

Nermina became a Real Housewife in 2017 and was one of the main stars in series six and seven.

She now appears as a guest star on the ITVBe show.

Posting to her 70,000+ followers on Wednesday, she wrote: "Birthday celebrations for the beautiful  @freyacork  today in Royal Ascot style.

"I had such a lovely afternoon and thank you for having me  #happybirthday."

Freya also posted a picture with the caption: "Royal Ascot At Home #styledwiththanks   #royalascot   #royalascotathome."

Groups of up to six people from different households are currently allowed to meet in a garden under current lockdown rules.

They are not allowed to gather indoors.

The government guidelines, updated on June 12, state that: "As before, you cannot visit friends and family inside their homes (unless you are in a support bubble from 13 June) or for other limited circumstances set out in law."

Both Nermina Pieters-Mekic and Freya Cork declined to comment.
