The readers’ view on… non-news and cliches

Of course, Jeremy Beecham is right to make a distinction between the Nakba and the Holocaust (Letters, 30 January). They were different in many ways. One difference he did not point out is that it is possible now to do more to set right the Nakba than the Holocaust.

• What an opportunity for your writers to indulge in a bit of cliche-writing about a planning issue (Report, 30 January). Naturally a planning officer of a local authority would be a “humble town hall bureaucrat”. I thought better of you.
