The Rare Planet Parade Is About To Dazzle The Sky, Here’s What It Means & How To See It

Planet Parade

At the start of 2025, the universe gave us not one but two rare events known as the Planet Parade aka that magical moment when a bunch of planets line up in the night sky like they’re posing for a group selfie. Back in Jan and early Feb, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Uranus, and Neptune all pulled up for the show.

Now for the grand finale: the last Planet Parade of 2025 is here, occurring between August 10 and 20.

Also called a ‘planetary alignment’ (fancy), this rare cosmic flex is when the planets appear in a neat little row, and we can see it all from Earth. Keep scrolling for the lowdown on how to catch this celestial squad in action — especially if you’re in Australia.

What is the Planet Parade?

A Planet Parade (or planetary alignment, if we’re being specific) is when a bunch of planets line up just right so they look like they’re forming a straight line across the night sky. IRL, they’re actually chilling millions of kilometres apart — but from Earth, it’s giving perfectly aligned.

Sometimes these parades feature all the planets, but back in January 2025 we had six in formation. This month, however, the lineup is looking like: Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune.

How can you see it from Australia?

We sure can! Prime viewing time for this cosmic catwalk? About 60–90 minutes after sunset or just before dawn. The closest and brightest planets — Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn — will totally show up for you without any gear.

City crew, you might have a tougher time spotting them thanks to light pollution (ugh). Out in the countryside? You’re winning.

Heads up: not every planet in the parade is visible to the naked eye. Neptune and Uranus are playing hard to get — you’ll need binoculars or a telescope to catch them in the act.

When will it be visible?

This sky show is running all August, starting August 10 when Mercury makes its entrance. By August 12, Venus and Jupiter join the lineup, with Saturn also popping in. Neptune and Uranus will be up there too, but they’re basically ghosting us unless you’ve got a telescope.

The real main event? August 17–20 — that’s when the waning crescent moon slides past the planets, turning the whole thing into a full-blown celestial runway moment.

What does the Planet Parade mean in astrology?

Astrology-wise, August’s Planet Parade isn’t just a cute night-sky moment — it’s a major major major moment. This rare lineup is serving inner alignment, big intuition boosts, and total transformation energy.

Think of it as the universe sliding into your DMs with an invite to level up — whether that’s clarity, creativity, or a full-on spiritual glow-up.

This period invites a dynamic tension between manifestation and action, and between visionary expansion and grounded structure.

The parade aligns with other major astrological events — like the Lion’s Gate Portal (August 8), the full moon in Aquarius (August 9), and a Venus-Jupiter conjunction (August 12) — making mid-August particularly potent.

Get those manifestations in, mates!
